Last weekend, during our trip to Mount Tag-ao in district of Dumarao, we met with the Ati tribe, the indigenous people of Philippines. I took this photo to show how simple and beautiful the people here are no matter colour or race, not to mock her health condition.
Hard workers, living honestly, harvesting corn and sugarcane. They have rebuild their homes with what is left after the typhoon damaged most of it. They ran to safely in a nearby cave when the typhoon came. Still living with no electricity.
She liked to be called Marimar, based on the popular Filipino TV drama celebrity. She is 15 years old and she gave me the sweetest smile when I called her by that name. She has epilepsy.
