Growing up in a small hilly town called Ipoh, in Malaysia, a sensitive boy of the 80s with a dream to be an artist, a designer or an explorer. Kiran’s adult life started off in a big busy city, stuck in a career routine, but for the past many years, he travelled in a nomadic way of life, only with his backpack and camera gear.
Life then took a big turn to realise that when we choose to follow our passion, we do not need much, our past became our teacher and our intuition to guide us today.

Since 2013, Kiran’s life experiences comes from being in different natural disaster relief aid activities, like the Philippines Typhoon, the Nepal Earthquake and the Malaysian floods. This includes photographing ethnic cultures, creating grassroots projects, real on-ground stories for awareness and supporting those who are marginalised.
“I remember walking out of a village that was effected by the floods, it didn’t feel right to me, photographing all these communities and not doing anything else to help sustain their lives.”

From this life journey, something new was born, our grassroots initiative, iMKIRAN Nation. Which embodies the idea of social awareness, empowering the marginalised and ethnic communities.
