“Is that a tribal face tattoo?”
“I got it when I was young, so the military men won’t take me.”
“You mean back in Myanmar?”
“Yes, if you are young and have fair skin face, the military will steal you away, so my mother made me cover my face with this tattoo to protect me. It’s an old tradition.”
“What do you mean by steal you away?”
She then looked away and didn’t want to talk about it.
