Beneath the raised wooden floor of her home in Gua Musang, she sits calmly, her smile carrying the memory of a life shaped by forest paths, river crossings and the rhythms of the land. Watching the lands change with time, rivers disappearing, deforestation and loosing her ancestral land.

She is one of the eldest women of the Temiar people, a member of the larger Orang Asli communities whose traditions are deeply rooted in the rainforest of Malaysia.

For generations, the Temiar have lived in close relationship with nature, guided by ancestral knowledge, dreams, traditional music and stories verbally passed down from one generation to the next. In her gentle presence, there is a quiet strength, a reminder that even as the modern world encroaches, the spirit of her people continues to endure.

Some beauties can only be found in the farthest areas of the world, like the Temiar women. Hidden from the common eyes of society and civilisation. A human race of it’s own culture, nature and living history.

It’s believed that the first Temiar people came about 30,000 years ago and are the true child of the earth of this lands, Malaysia as it’s called today.
