“We have no where to go. I’m trying to gather five to seven families here to rent a piece of land nearby, so we can start building our new home. It won’t be like our homes before but it would be a start.

With the little money we have, we can start a small house first, we will build it with zink sheets and bamboo, as long as we can move away from this camp site. It’s not easy to live here anymore, with so many families around, so many issues.

My roof leaks badly when it rains, this plastic tents can’t hold rain when it’s heavy. It gets very hot in the day and really cold at night. It’s muddy when it rains and we get sick when it’s too dry. My grandchild is sick now, I am sick too.

Recently they sent a medical aid team here to distribute medication, everyone here has a headache or fever. We had to wait four to five hours till we got to see the doctor. I was in line since 8am and only got to see the doctor at 1pm. He just sat there distributing medication and when my turn came he just handed me some headache and fever medications (Paracetamol).

He didn’t even ask me why I’m having this headache! Nothing! He didn’t even take his time to listen to my problems! Not even a glance.

I have a headache not because I’m sick, it’s because I’m stressed!! I’m worried, I’m tired and I’m stressed of the conditions here. I have a headache because I can’t stop thinking of my grandchild and family! This panadols won’t solve that problem! I worry daily and I can’t sleep. He didn’t even listen to me!”

“I’m here now and I’ll listen. Talk to me..”

She start crying immediately after I said that.

The local government has giving them a notice to move out within the next month, with no other support. The local society in charge of the camp site have now start charging them daily rent to stay here longer.
