Flames of the Bay

Flames of the Bay

She stood there watching me move, to see her whisper into the shadows. She burns with fire that flames her soul, she leads a life that gives her pleasure, to be whole.

I see her sweat falling off her life, making a living for her family, her child. The hope of being present. It’s never easy being a mother, bringing life into this world for another.

Her life, her soul and her fire, has only one desire. To make her living, to burn in the day, to cry at night, for her child may not go hungry. So it’s future is ever bright.

I wish to give you all the hope I have, in this world and the next that we share. As I move along seeing the rays passing through air, I notice her look down with a face full of despair. I fear she will never look forwards, into her future that doesn’t seem fair.

As the sun goes down to bring the night, I see her start her daily fight, to dig further in sand and soil, to give us what she feels with a boil. The touch, the fear of life, our being that grows within.

I leave her far beyond my sight, as I walk out of this fight. I know I cannot make the change, her life is there for her to claim. For her child finds a place in this world, as she makes bed for her family in turns. She will always keep me on my feet, as destiny had shown us no defeat. With love and humanity rising high, I know someday birds of peace will be flying high.
