An elder gypsy telling me tales of his life and how hard it has become today to live as a camel herder. He has been traveling back here to the Pushkar camel fair for almost 40 years at times for weeks on foot just to look for some income to survive.
“We live from day to day, not knowing what is our tomorrow, but we are gypsies so that’s our way of life today. In the past we had so much more, living off nature and land, today it’s all gone with this modern development. They took away all our lands and culture.”
